News from Spain

This weekend the Spanish media and the Spanish people were surprised by a video about the terrorist group ETA, where they announced that the terrorist group was going to put down guns. The video was send just to two different outlets and the chosen ones were Gara newspaper and the BBC.
But the fact is that Spanish people is tired of unreliable promises. This video is not something that brings hope for Spain, is another trick. And the question that is on people's mind now is just...put down guns but until when? How many killed people is going to be the next surprise?
Maybe ETA should "rebrand" their self and create another publicity because in Spain nobody believes what they say.
Now, we just can wait, thank, at least, for this "break" and see what the Spanish government does with it.

Friday afternoon

It's Friday afternoon! The office is quiet, just a couples of "clicks"from the mouses and few "tic, tocs" from the keyboards! It's almost three and it seems like it was, I don't know....seven? Come on! Just a few more hours! The telephone has woke up me now!
Fridays are always the same, last hours, thinking on the weekend, and this one is going to be a bit longer because on Monday the weekend continues. Plans for it? It would be a great idea going to Nothing Hill carnival!Let's see what happens!
Have a nice weekend!

Long weekend

It has been an amazing weekend. It has been amazing because it has been so long, at least for me. Last week I had Thursday and Friday off because my family was visiting me. They have stay here for five days. I haven't slept so much, we have walked thousand different streets, we have tasted a multicultural food and visited shops, museums, galleries, parks...
For a couple of days I have enjoyed London in a way that I hadn't enjoyed it yet, as a tourist!

Liverpool express

It seemed that yesterday was going to be a normal day, I got up at 7, I took the underground at 8, but I didn't go to Vauxhall station, I got off in Euston to take a train to Liverpool. Two hours later I was there.
Liverpool is different from London (at least, the few streets that I saw while I got lost trying to find the office). The most surprising thing was that it seemed that I was walking between different houses and suddenly the office was one of those houses.
It was a quick visit because at 6 I was in London again, so I hope to go back soon.

London Adventures

My friend and rommie Paula (I think I have talked about her before) wants to visit and see every single place from London, but, I agree that she has taken this, really seriously. Why? Because yesterday we visit some special places, but also, for special reason.
The day before someone stole her wallet and we have had to go to the Spanish embassy and after that, to the police station to make a report about what happened. Hopefully the two policemen were really nice and they helped us with our problems with the language.
With two months left in London, we have a new story to tell in Spain when we'll come back home.

A kind of relax weekend

What' s really a "relax weekend"? Stay at home sleeping for two days?No work?Do what you want and when you want? Well, my relax weekend has consisted on getting up late on Saturday, go to Sainsbury (or fridge was almost empty), after that I prepared the lunch for my friends and then we slept the famous typical Spanish "siesta". At night, we went clubbing until early in the morning. On Sunday, I made laundry and I cleaned the apartment, after that I went to Hyde Park and my weekend went to an end in the same place where it began, in Brick Lane.
What about your weekend?

Planning the weekend

Friday!I love Fridays because I can go out at night, wake up late on Saturdays and enjoy London during two days. Since I've been here, we always do the same thing on Fridays, after work, we meet on a pub by our apartment in Seven Sisters, and with a cool drink and some chips we start planning. Later, we go home, have a shower, get dressed and ready to dance! On Saturdays we, normally, don' t get up so early, that's why we have a quite breakfast-lunch at home and the plans goes on. If we are no so tired, maybe some dance for Saturday night also and more visits on Sunday, ending the weekend in Bricklane having dinner.
So, it's Friday...have a nice weekend!!

Cool weather

I woke up this morning at 7 o'clock, well, maybe it was 7.30 but when I've opened the window of my bedroom there were no sunbeams like other mornings and, of course, that have made more difficult to get up my roommate. I miss the sun, the beach, the hot weather (maybe no the 43 degrees that they have now in Spain) but London seems so different. One the other hand, it remains me the weather of Asturias (in the north of Spain), where my family lives now.
Well, maybe today it's not a sunny day but after work I will enjoy it like if it was.

Tourist weekend

I've been here for a month but it hasn't been until this weekend that I've started visiting London city. Last Thursday, my roommate and friend Paula (in an internship in London too) and me, we received a visit from Spain, so we have spent the whole weekend walking from side to side visiting different places.
On Saturday morning, our friend got up us a little early to go to Candem Town, we spent the morning there, walking between different kind of shops, and after a quick lunch there, we continued shopping in Oxford Street. Got home, a quick shower, a beautiful dress, high heel shoes and ready to have party!
Getting up on Sunday morning was a little bit difficult but we still wanted to see things, that's why after a huge coffee we started our London tour. Whitechapel, Liverpool Station, the Big Ben...and finally and amazing dinner with some dance in Bricklane.
It has been a really good weekend!

Welcome!

Welcome to DHA's new blog! In the first post of the blog, I just want to say "hello" and tell something about me, the writer of the blog, at least for a while.
My name is Lorena, I'm from Spain and I am spending my summer holidays on an internship in London. I finished my Journal
ism studies in June and, hopefully, I will finish Broadcasting studies next year.
The DHA's te
am has proposed me the challenge of writing a blog with my experience as intern in the company, as a "baby" journalist in the PR sector and as a tourist in London City, as you can see...I have accepted the challenge! To start this blog in a good mood, here you have a funny picture of me supporting Spain's team on the World Cup!
(Sorry for my current and future spelling or grammatical mistakes, I'm working on them!!
